So, back in America. My dad interviewed for a job in the first week back. So, it had been a lot of rough travel, but then we got to relax a little visiting family and friends and familiar places (like Colorado).
Interview with mom...
Mom: how is re-entry?
Micah: crazy.
Mom: really?
Micah: yeah
Mom: thoughts?
Micah: Ummmm....
mom: what was crazy?
Micah: just all the moving around. we stayed in 5 different states in one week (I'm exaggerating)
Mom: what about American culture and coming back? How is different than Uganda?
Micah: well, it's a very indoor culture, while Uganda is outdoor, (obviously). America is very commercialized.
Mom: did you miss commercialization?
Micah: uh, no.
Mom: what about the people?
Micah: people in Uganda have no sense of personal space, whereas everyone here is like "get away from me, don't touch me, hands off" For example, in Uganda, everyone would touch your hair and they touch each other and no would mind.
Mom: any other observations?
Micah: I love the seasons.
Here's Logan who I used to visit every summer while staying at my Uncle Duane and Aunt Candy's house.
We also went to a de-briefing retreat called DAR to "debrief". This is Tarrah, our old teacher from SPLICE, where we "briefed"
We also went back to Texas where we visited some old friends. Here's me and Cade building a Lego fort.
We also went to a fossilized creek.
Here's me with some other old friends.
Then, we flew and drove to Vermont where we rode the Alpine Slide. And yet again, visited some old friends.
Then we drove to Cape Cod, MA to visit our cousins and celebrated Abby's birthday.
We went on a boat tour and saw some whales.
And finally, moving to North Carolina!

First Day of School/ Seniors gave us a warm welcome which made my mom cry.
